Krill Oil Overview
Krill are a type of shrimp-like marine crustaceans. The oil of krill is a source of naturally occurring omega-3 fatty acids, however it is found that the concentrations of these oils is less than is usually found in fish oil supplements. In particular, krill oil has been noted to contain high amounts of astaxanthin. Astaxanthin is a reddish carotenoid that is most commonly known for its high antioxidant activity.
