Cranberries are probably most famous for their role as a Thanksgiving side dish favorite, however they have also been shown to have a number of health benefits.
Raw cranberries and cranberry juice are good sources of antioxidant polyphenols and anthocyanidin flavonoids. These compounds have are powerful against human cancer cells in vitro.
Cranberry tannins have anti-clotting properties and may reduce urinary tract infections.
Research shows that a component of cranberry juice may prevent bacterial attachment to the bladder and urethra.
