Cinnamon Overview
Cinnamon is a spice that may improve insulin sensitivity by making insulin work better and by mimicking insulin activity. Studies show that supplemental cinnamon may help to reduce fasting blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes. Research also suggests that daily use of a water-soluble extract may improve body composition by increasing muscle and reducing fat, while also improving blood sugar levels and reducing insulin resistance.
