Bromelain Overview
Bromelain is a mixture of enzymes that can be found in all parts of the pineapple fruit and plant. It is because of bromelain that pineapples have had a long tradition as a medicinal plant among the natives of South and Central America. Eating pineapple will provide you with some of the anti-inflammatory and digestive benefits of this powerful enzyme. However, bromelain is concentrated mostly within the stem, which is rarely eaten.
