Açai berry extract is derived from the deep purple, grape-sized fruit of the açai palm which grows in South America. The açai berry has been used traditionally for arthritis and heart disease, and for improving general health. The pulp of the açai berry is rich in antioxidants that may protect cells from damage associated with aging, disease, and environmental toxins. Research has shown that açai berries have more antioxidant power than cranberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, or blueberries.
