Product Overview

L-Glutamine is one of the most versatile amino acids. Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body and is involved in healthy hormone and protein synthesis. It is the primary nitrogen donor and ensures the healthy anabolic processes that support the synthesis of hormones such as insulin and melatonin. It also fuels the cells of the immune system and the intestinal track to support healthy cell turn-over and proper function. Glutamine is also considered critical to the healing and successful repair of the body after it undergoes stresses caused by surgery or injury.

Supplements and foods such as beets, parsley and miso, are the best sources of glutamine. Within the body, the greatest producer of this critical amino acid is muscle mass, but as we age and muscle mass declines, glutamine production can be compromised. Meanwhile, glutamine is consumed in large quantities from the cells of our intestines and by the cells of our kidneys in order to maintain proper body alkalinity.
