Chromium is an essential trace mineral that works with insulin to support healthy blood sugar levels and plays an important role in the proper utilization of protein, fat and carbs. We use ChromeMate®, a patented niacin-bound chromium (also known as chromium nicotinate or polynicotinate) which is one of the most extensively researched, most effective varieties in the world. Research has shown that ChromeMate® provides greater biological activity than other chromium supplements tested.
Chromium plays an essential role in proper insulin function, maintenance of healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels, normal energy production and promotion of healthy body weight. Chromium boosts the activity of insulin, and a lack of chromium promotes insulin resistance and high blood sugar that may trigger type 2 diabetes.
Proper insulin function, in turn, helps your body metabolize fat, turn protein into muscle and convert sugar into energy. In fact, chromium-activated insulin increases the amount of blood sugar available for energy production nearly twenty-fold.
